Botox and Fillers
Dr. Shapiro uses a wide range of fillers using the one most appropriate for the patient and situation. He carries several brands of Botulinum Toxin and uses his experience since botulinum toxin was first available to achieve outstanding natural results.
Micro-Needling
Micro-Needling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy, plumps the skin to create a long-lasting youthful appearance. A skilled Esthetician uses a pen with tiny needles attached to create tiny, pin-sized puncture wounds in the skin’s dermis. The result is the production of new collagen and elastin, which forms the basis for all skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Micro-Needling also creates micro-channels to help the skin absorb therapeutic serums.
Micro-needling can smooth wrinkles, improve scars, and improve the overall look and texture of the skin.
Chemical Peels
Remove years of sun damage, and aging from your face by getting a chemical peel. Using a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin, a chemical peel works by removing the damaged outer layers of your skin to reveal a more vibrant and younger looking you! A chemical peel can also improve the look of your neck. If you have sun damage, liver spots, acne, or wrinkles, ask for a consultation regarding chemical peels to learn if they are an option for you.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Intense Pulsed Light is a technique using high-intensity pulses of light to penetrate the skin. This procedure treats many skin conditions and abnormalities. In fact, IPL can diminish or remove age spots, liver spots, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, minor sun damage, broken capillaries, and large pores.
There is no downtime with this procedure.
Skin Resurfacing
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning treats fine lines and wrinkles, decreases pore size and improves mild acne scarring. This technique is performed in-office and has little downtime. It works to renew the skin’s top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping.
Dermaplaning can improve the look of facial skin scarred by accidents or previous surgery and can smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. It is also used to remove pre-cancerous growths called keratoses.
Laser Treatment
Laser skin resurfacing is used to permanently remove wrinkles and tighten skin using laser treatments specifically designed for your needs. Even facial scars from acne can be reduced and moles removed. Redness can be reduced and telangiectasias can be removed.
Dr. Shapiro has perfected a technique that works precisely on targeted areas and reduces “downtime.”
Laser skin resurfacing improves fine lines, wrinkles, scars from acne or chickenpox, aged or sun-damaged skin, liver spots, skin tone, warts, birthmarks, and enlarged oil glands on the nose.
Using the laser to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, Dr. Shapiro removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner, one layer at a time. The laser removes the outer layer of skin (the epidermis) and simultaneously heats the underlying skin (the dermis). This action works to stimulate growth of new collagen fibers so the treated area heals, and the new skin that forms is smoother and firmer.
Hydrofacial
One option for achieving smooth and more youthful looking skin is a Hydrofacial.
Hydrofacial is a non-invasive skincare treatment that will cleanse, exfoliate, extract and hydrate your skin.
Your treatment will be customized by employing various serums and solutions to match your skin condition to achieve the desired effect. Hydrofacial treatments are gentle and effective with minimal downtime and provide immediate results.
The hydrofacial procedure is performed in the Bryn Mawr office.
Preservation Facelift
The Preservation Facelift is a surgical procedure that repositions the deep muscles and ligaments of the face to rejuvenate the midface, lower face and neck. This technique aims to preserve the face’s natural contours and features, rather than creating a tight or stretched appearance.
This procedure has become popular with younger patients, as it targets the early signs of aging before they become more prominent. It frequently can be performed under local anesthesia, offering a safer and more comfortable experience with fewer risks of complications.
